If you want to develop a mindset to become rich you are in the right place! Just dreaming of becoming rich will not get you anywhere though, because to achieve anything in life, you need the right mindset and the willingness to chase your dreams.
I’m going to share with you some strategies for increasing and improving your wealth, and the mindset shifts you need to go through to get to your goals.
1. Focus on what you want!
We either focus on what we want, or what we don’t want.
Which side of the equation are you living on?
If you find yourself saying things like ‘I don’t want to be broke’ or ‘I don’t want to have any debt’ then you’re focusing on what you don’t want. Guess what happens? You then stay broke, you stay in debt, because your unconscious mind can’t process negative words like don’t.
To our unconscious mind, you’re saying ‘I want to be broke’ and ‘I want to be in debt’ so it is doing its job, helping you get what you want. Oops!
When you change your language, you change your mindset.
Start by setting a goal, then working towards it.
Let’s say your goal is to save $24000 in 12 months. You know that breaks down to $2000 a month, and at the end of each month you can see if you achieved your target or not.
Remember, we want to to build a mindset to achieve goals, so we always state our goals in the positive.
2. Learn to work towards your goals
With your goal in mind, and knowing the milestones you need to hit to get there, you now know the goals you need to achieve.
Have you ever wondered how mindset affects success?
A negative mindset would say ‘I’ll never save $24000’ whereas a positive mindset says ‘I’m willing to do whatever it takes to reach this goal.
When you understand your why, the how just happens.
If you’re willing to do whatever it takes to reach your goal, the first thing to do is look at ways you can increase your income.
One of the best ways to increase your income is to start a side hustle, and the best side hustle is coaching, because coaching is the fastest-growing industry on the planet, and a coach is a non-advisory role! You learn how to ask the right questions to clients, as they have all the answers within, they just need your help to bring it to consciousness.
This means you help people, earn money, and get closer to your goals!
3. Invest your savings
After you have launched your side hustle and are earning more income, it’s time to play a bigger game.
By working through steps one and two, you have already developed your mindset to become rich. Now it’s time to get your money to work for you.
You see it’s not about how much you make, it’s how much you keep!
The reason many people are in debt or constantly broke is because they’re buying TV’s, clothes, cars, to try and fill the holes in their life.
By developing the mindset to become rich, you understand that happiness comes from within.
Millionaires understand mindset affects success, and rather than buying iPhones and shoes, they’re constantly investing.
That can be investing in the stock market, investing in property, and most importantly, investing in themselves!
4. Invest in yourself
Many people believe that when they finish high school or university, that learning stops.
Something we talk about at Live it Now is the concept that if you’re not growing, you’re sliding.
If we look at developing a mindset to become rich, for most of us, what we know about finances we learnt as kids, and often not from the best role models.
For example, if your parents were always in debt, are they the best people to learn budgeting and investing from?
No.
To build a mindset to achieve goals, you need to surround yourself with people who have achieved what you want to achieve, and one of the best ways to do this is by investing in books, training, and coaching.
There are plenty of free groups you can join too, such as our Facebook group for Troublemakers who want to break out!
When you invest in yourself, your coaching clients will see the transformation you’re going through, and will continue to keep working with you. People only stop getting coaching because they see they are now outperforming you!
By continuing to grow, you can keep helping others grow too.
5. Think big with your goals
How do we eat an elephant?
One bite at a time!
While our initial goal might be to save $2000 a month to reach our 12-month goal of $24000 in savings, what’s next?
When I’m working with people on their mindset for success, we start with a six-month and 12-month vision.
We then go out into the future, and ask ‘where do you want to be in the next three, five, seven years?
Often we underestimate what we can do in seven years, and overestimate what we can do in 12 months.
Let’s look at our side-hustle coaching business again.
We have coaches in the 6 Figure Coach Blueprint who go on to make multiple six-figures within 12-24 months!
This is how mindset affects success.
On the journey to hitting six figures, they have to make certain jumps, almost like a right of passive. As they make those jumps, they develop a mindset to achieve goals, then make bigger and bigger goals.
So set a goal that is audacious. Make it scary, yet achievable.
Could you set a 7-Year Vision to have a million-dollar coaching business and be out of your 9-5 job?
Absolutely!
And even if you ‘only’ hit $500k, you’re still doing something you love and have built a mindset for success in any goal you set yourself!
How mindset affects success
Developing a mindset to become rich is a combination of all the above mindsets that we have discussed so far. They include:
● Focussing on what you want, not on what you don’t want.
● Understanding no goal is too big
● Investing the money you make in yourself
● Setting and achieving goals
● Thinking big, and making the most of your success
If you can develop a mindset to become rich, not only will you have more money in the bank, you will be richer in all areas of life!
